Why I do this work

Helping others brings me great joy. I grew up in a family with alcoholism and mental health struggles. My way of coping was to use substances myself. By the age of 16 I was addicted and needed help. I was introduced to 12 Step Recovery, found sobriety and a community that cared for me. I went to College and Graduate school focusing my education and on helping others.

After 30 years of working in secular programs, I find myself more and more convicted to step away from that world to provide counseling through the lens of my Christian faith. I need to be free to speak to those that I counsel about the truth and the love of Jesus.

I am very excited to providing counseling as a Christian Counselor. Standing on the word of God, providing counsel to those in need.
